From my pre-med advisor.......

"Hello everyone,

We are anticipating that you may be receiving questions from your
advisees about two recent events at Pritzker. The first is that we have
embarked on the new technology of hosting online chats with our
applicants. As you may know, Pritzker has a long history of being
available for application and admission-related conversations. We made
the decision to randomly invite a portion of those applicants who
initiated an AMCAS application with us, regardless of application
status. We know applicants will ask whether an invitation to the chat
(or lack thereof) /means /something about whether we will ultimately be
inviting them for an interview or not. Given the randomness of the pool
we selected, of course the answer to this question is that there is no
hidden “meaning” in the invitation to the chat room. There will be
additional chat dates set throughout this application cycle, so there
will be other opportunities for applicants to chat with us.

Our second recent event has to do with the emails that we send out to
applicants once their application is complete. We typically will list a
group of applicants on the same email, using the “bcc” feature on our
email system to do so. Recently we switched email providers, and our
administrative assistants didn’t fully understand the capabilities of
the system and failed to use the “bcc” field correctly. This resulted in
some of your advisees receiving their “complete” email with other email
addresses visible. We have sent an email to the applicants affected by
this to let them know of the mistake and to send our sincerest
apologies. We know their greatest concern is whether there was
additional information leaked. Truly, there was not. We simply provide
our administrative assistants with a list of email addresses to which
the “complete” email should be sent. Please be assured that we have
solved the problem and we hold your students’ information in the
greatest confidence."
