Hmm so I was thinking of building a PC, grades for 3 years up to now 1st year; 2.7, 2nd year: 2.1, 3rd year: 3.5, MCAT: 39. 4th year :1st semester so far: A's in all of my classes. Now, I really want to build a PC, for gaming and editing, and thats pretty much it.

I'm a bit confused on what to do considering that I might be getting shipped off to Ireland for Medschool considering my stats are so **** that unless I do masters or SMP nothing seems to be changing. Oh yes My EC consists of light volunteering, and 2 RA jobs with my prof and neurologist. No papers or publications (unless you count the 20+ articles I published for the Uni newspaper).

So fellas, spend 1000 dollars to play awesome high-res video games for the next 6 months (since I might go international) or continue to watch youtube videos of the awesome high-res video games.

As you can see, I am one of those idiots who aspires to become a doctor, cant seem to focus on becoming one, life is slipping away, time is wasting and yet I hate studying. I can potientially pull of a 3.9 for this year but I dont see it making any difference.

I feel like if I get the P.C I can venture into some other fields I have always been interested in (graphic design, video and photo editing) just so I can finally have other hobbies than watching t.v shows, and pron.

There I fixed it for you.

So...you're gloating?

How so? My app is utter trash, I am in my senior year and thinking about building a PC for multimedia purposes which are selfish in nature since I know I dont deserve it, but....

Didn't your mom kick you out of the house because of that orgo grade?

Ummm........... congratulations?

If you seriously need help in building a PC, you can shoot me a PM. I recently built my own budget gaming system and can help you pick out parts and link you to building videos.

Photo/video editing and graphic design are cool hobbies, but unless you're building a portfolio and doing work or getting things published, it's not going to help with an app. And if you want it to become more than a hobby, professional video editing / graphic design hardware costs thousands.

Meh you can get video/photo editing done on a $400 laptop unless you're going into the 3D realm.

Dude you should totally do it! My SO and I recently built one together and it was a blast! It's also not that hard to do :)

I didn't know you were a Mac Miller fan?? His big brother was in my high school classes and is really into art. Sadly I never saw either his younger half or wiz khalifa. I don't think either of them went to class much. Crazy to see them both blow up like that.

Hah - I've become one recently. A good friend of mine showed the "Donald Trump" video to me a while ago and the first thing I thought was: this guy looks like a *****. He makes some pretty great music despite is wacky appearance, though, and he's really grown on me. It's pretty impressive that he started making such high quality music so young.

A couple of friends and I went to a Mac Miller and Wiz concert a few months ago. It was absolutely awesome - they put on a great show.

I don't understand why we needed all that info.

I like how you enjoy good music produced by the Taylor Gang Associates, rather than the screaming, incomprehensible electric noises of said dubstep songs

It is heartwarming

I'm doing it for fun, no need to put gaming on an app.

For some reason that's exactly what I was thinking. I don't know why I automatically assumed he would be 3D modelling in Maya and editing graphics into Blu-Ray movies with Final Cut Pro.

Just built a computer last month. I recommend it.

Looking forward to the day when I have the cash to do so...

I've always wanted to do it - seems like a fun and economical way to get a pretty beast system - but I can't justify the cost considering it would be used strictly for gaming. I've got a few PC games wasting away on my laptop because they aren't playable on my current hardware.

I've been building PCs for years now, and I still thoroughly enjoy it. I'm on my 6th build now, and I've built a couple for a small profit. There is something in the way it all snaps together that satisfies my OCD.

Buy high-end components of things you reuse: PSU, Heatsink (water cooled), SSD, disk drives, and a classy case (that battlebot **** gets old). When it comes time to rebuild, you only need to spend a couple hundred on a processor, motherboard, and RAM.

True that. It's awesome that he transitioned from the classical stuff into hip hop, makes him very versatile. I remember a youtube clip of him doing a Beatles cover, and he has a good mix of hard rap and fun stuff like Donald Trump. Wiz and Mac definitely know how to have fun on stage, very spontaneous.

Nice to see some hometown boys making it big!

For gaming? No.

Waste of time man, trust me. I regret ever getting so much into video games. But if it's games like COD or stuff like that, than sure why not. If it's games like SC2 or WoW, hell no.

COD is also a video game fyi... but I get the point, SC2 or WOW are considerable time commitments that is why I stray from RTS or MMORPG games, I only play strictly FPS.
