I would like to congratulate everyone who got accepted to an allopathic medical school today. You're better than me. I may have stellar stats and attend an elite school, but in the end, you all beat me to it. I just didn't measure up. My days of glory are over:(

I woke up today ready to get accepted. I thought I was in. As the day dragged on and I didn't receive any feedback, though, I got more and more anxious, I was clutching my cell phone and checking my e-mail religiously. Now, at almost 10:00pm eastern time, none of the schools I have interviewed at have contacted me. It looks like I'll probably end up an osteopath, unless I apply to a few lower tier schools.:(

Yes, many of the schools that I appied to do not have rolling admissions, but there were at least two schools that I was expecting to hear from. My days of glory are over.:(

Oh and my girlfriend dumped me tonight because she believes I am a "worthless failure with a small penis.":(

If anyone needs me I'll be looking at porn in another internet explorer window while drinking stale beer and eating outdated pork rhinds.:(

And to make matters worse I found out that I got an "A-" on my quantum mechanics quiz from yesterday.:(

There, there, CHEER UP! Whatever happened to that SnS that was full of confidence and high expectations? Even if you do end up as an osteopathic MD, I am sure that you'll make a great doctor. Believe or not, I think you're one of the best and most colorful characters on this forum... I wish you the best of luck in the future.

damn.
and i thought you could work your colorectal/neurosurg magic on a few of my classmates

Neuro out of DO will be tough, but I'm sure you can do it:D

I got a B on my first genetics test. Beat the ave by more than twenty pts............. I hate charity curves, but I suppose that's what I get for not studying:(

Thanks guys:clap:

I won't give up hope yet. I still have interviews coming up at several top 10 schools. My top choice, Columbia, doesn't have rolling admissions and that was my best interview so far.

I'm definitely going to be a neurosurgeon, whether I become a MD or a DO! It's all about board scores! There's a whole new subspecialty out there just waiting for me to develop it--colorectal-neurosurgery. The anal sphincter has more to it than meets the eye. It's truly a window to the body, including the nervous system. I won't give away too many details, but the phrase "sphincter tone" will have a lot more meaning to it once I complete my academic neurosurgery residency.

 What can I say.....

Close! That's Dimitri--one of my dwarf hamsters (Campbells). I'm a weirdo hamster lover. As you can tell, he likes cameras. ;)

dude, i'm sure you'll be at some top 10 school next year laughing about how you were worried about not getting in. i, on the other hand, really have something to worry about (have yet to finish my bloody secondaries...)

I hope so. I guess that I still have a chance, but it just sucks to not get in on the first day.

Good luck with those secondaries.
