I was lucky enough to hear back from few schools and received acceptances. I spent so much money and time on interviews and I said to myself that after I hear back from schools, I'm not going to fly out to the east coast anymore (I flew out there 3 times already). But I received an interview invite from UPenn and I'm not sure if I should go or not. I feel like I shouldn't go b/c I already got acceptances and I don't want want to spend even more time and money, especially I was already in Philly previously. Also, they only accept like about 1/3 of interviewees, so the odds aren't that great. But I also feel like I should go b/c it's an excellent school and it's the highest ranked school that I applied to. I know I have to decide this for myself if I should accept or decline the interview, but I'd just like to ask for your guys' opinions on what you would do? Help please!

i'm in your boat too, and i'm declining interviews that i have personally ranked lower than the ones in which i was accepted. with that said, i think you should go to the UPenn one, because it's highest ranked on your list. i mean, come on...it's UPENN!!!!

Yeah I am declining interviews too. As much as I loved UMich I would not pass up a UPenn interview. Definitely go!

I would say that if you are happy with the places that you are accepted at...then screw the rest of your interviews. If you have the extra money, go for it...or spend it elsewhere.

I'd still go... I'm still flying out to Cali for a couple interviews in Dec even though I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go if accepted (too far from the fam). But better to have ALL of your options on the table before you start limiting... maybe you'll fall in love with Penn!

I am definitely declining a few, but those were schools that were always ranked a bit "lower" in my mind than where I got in. If you're not 100% absolutely sure that you would reject Penn in favor of an acceptance you already have, go!

It will also allow you to "shop" for financial aid packages and use that as a factor in your choice.

If you guys got acceptances and you are happy with it...please for the love of God....decline so that hopefully some of them trickle down to "no interviews yet" members.

If you would be completely happy at a school you've already been accepted to, don't bother with more interviews. If I get into my top choice, I'd turn down all my interviews afterwards.

I also was fortunate enough to be accepted to the school where I feel I will be happiest. I have one more interview this weekend I have already purchased a flight/hotel room for, but after that, I am done (except for maybe Stanford, just to see if I can get in - but I guess I have to be invited to interview first, ha!).

Good luck,

Adam

I would say "dont go" but that would just be 'cuz I am bitter that they languished me on their waitlist for months with the hope of getting off and finally rejected me............but the truth of the matter is............its UPENN!!!

If you can afford it, Go!

i think you've got an excellent chance of being accepted (seeing your track record!!). IMHO, i think you should give it a shot. if you're comfortable renting a car, southwest flies into baltimore pretty cheap and the drive from baltimore to philly isn't bad at all... just a thought. good luck whatever you decide to do.

I was in the same situation when I applied and after considering all the $$ I chose to decline quite a few. Like some posters have said UNLESS you would prefer to go there then why bother with flights, hotels and hassles?
