Can you please weigh in on this? We're getting conflicting opinions on the use of contractions in personal statements. I read my essay with contractions and then reread it without the contractions. By far, I like it WITH contractions better. It sounds more natural and flows better. Without the contractions, it sounds too impersonal.

Do you guys even pay attention to things like this when reading personal statements?
