which UT school did you guys feel the best at, which did you guys think the students were happiest at? where do you think youll be happiest and why? I like galveston, houston. it seemed like all the students hated SW, albeit they were pretentious about being there. i need some info...hellpp...

I really like UTMB and UTSW. I did not like UTH and UTHSCSA. I still do not know which school I am going to rank higher: UTMB or UTSW.

I didn't get that impression from UTSW. I was really impressed actually. UTSW had more of a campus feel than the other schools. I saw more students hanging around on Saturday than I saw on the other campuses on Friday. I guess you can take that as a good thing or a bad thing. At the other schools, the only students around were part of the interview program, but at UTSW i got to interact with alot of students that were just going about their normal business. I cruised through college and never went to class, so as weird as it sounds, I'm kind of looking forward to lots of lectures and stressful tests and stuff. I think the academic rigor of UTSW brings the students together as opposed to driving them apart. From the outside looking in, I thought it was a pretty tight knit group. Also, UTSW seems to promote different activities like intra-murals stuff, which is a plus to me.

I liked all of the schools I interviewed at.

Since I didn't get to interact with many students at UTSW since interview was on a Saturday, I don't know much about satisfaction level. I imagine it's a very positive feeling overall. Former grads I ran into had nothing but good things to say.

Myself, I felt best at Southwestern. Had a very professional vibe to it without being too serious in atmosphere (4th year videos, anyone?).

San Antonio was very cool too. Pretty laid back - maybe too laid back for my tastes - but I could see myself being very happy there.

A&M too, but I'm iffy on the clinical opportunities there. But I like the idea of being part of a small class.

UT Houston I did not get much of a feeling for, though MS3 friends who attend the school are having a blast.

Top two are UTSW and UTMB. I'm biased towards UTMB since i've been working there for about a year and after having that much interaction with physicians and residents and so forth it seems like a second home to me (i commute there also, so that doesn't necessarily help). The students there seemed really laid back and if i do go there i may have more opportunities for research publications as well.

As for UTSW, the students seemed laid back....the 4th year tour guide seemed like a douche, but i'm sure he was stressed out. I've got a bunch of old high school buddies that were among the smarter crowd (graduates of Stanford, Cornell, etc.) and they seem to enjoy themselves without being too stressed out.
