To those accepted off a waitlist in summer 2001...

Hi Everyone

For those that applied last year, I was wondering when most waitlist movement occured for you? I'm holding an acceptance at a school that starts July 22nd, so I'm a little sad that I won't get a longer chance to get off any waitlists at schools I would prefer...especially because I just found out I have a good chance of getting accepted elsewhere by the end of August!

So, please post when you got off a waitlist(s) LAST SUMMER, and any other comments you'd like to share. You can vote for more than one question in the poll.

Unfortunately, there's really no way to know when most movement will occur. It's different every year. Because of the AMCAS fiasco this year, I bet that a lot more acceptances will be given out in late summer than usual. Best of luck to you!

last year on SDN there seemed to be a big wave of movement in early/mid June, then another, smaller wave in mid/late July. it really varies from year to year though; for example, last year NYMC hardly took anyone off the waitlist and there was no movement until late July, and this year there has already been some movement. I received my first acceptance on July 16 of last year. good luck!
