Hi. :):welcome:
I have a question regarding breaks in med school. I plan on going to the olympics in Tokyo 2020:soexcited: with my family (my brother's wedding is around then too, but that's another story) and wanted to understand how the vacation time works for med school. For my understanding, you get your summer between M1 and M2 off typically. Then a 6-8 week between M2 and M3 (May-June) after Step 1 which is no good. Between M3 and M4, idk? The Olympics are 24 July – 9 August 2020. Would I be able to attend for the two-three weeks?

I plan on starting med school in Fall 2017.

It depends on your school

Theoretically that would work... Most schools have flexible vacation in 4th year.

Problem is if you have any unexpected reasons you fall behind/need a leave of absence/fail step 1/whatever, then those vacation blocks become "make up time."
