any links for good test taking strategies?
Quickly, what worked for me:
1) Be rested before exams. Seriously, a clear head will carry you further in answering "the easy ones" than randomly remembering a side effect of tacrolimus, for example.
2) Trust your first answer. More often than not, my first choice was correct rather than the one I switched to because I over thought it. If you pick 'A' stick with it unless you misread the stem. If you are unsure, DO NOT change your initial answer.
3) Read every answer also even if you just know which one you think is correct. Sometimes an even more obvious answer will be present that is more correct so just read then all.
4) Allow enough time to review marked/unsure questions. You just have to do this. It shouldn't take ~2 min to answer each question, and thus, you SHOULD have time to review the more difficult questions since you nailed the easy ones right?
5) Last point, kind of overarching: give every question the same respect. In other words, the easy ones are worth the same as the hard ones, so you should be as diligent in making sure you put your best answer and were careful on every question. Be consistent, stay focused (I know it's easier said than done) and don't zone out while reading any question .
Hope this helps.
