Hey guys, I figure this might be an interesting question to ask. Of those of you applying now what are the top three med schools that you'd like to go to?

I think it would be cool to look back on a thread like this at the end of this whole application cycle of secondaries, interviews, acceptances, and waitlists and see if our top choices remain the same. I'm sure mine will change at some point down the line but I'll post my three as they stand now at the outset.

1. Northwestern
2. Loyola
3. Pitt

Hey everyone!

Here are my top 3!

1. UMDNJ (New Brunswick/Piscataway, then Newark)
2. MCP Hanhemann
3. Temple

Secondary went out for UMNDJ-NJMS about two weeks ago, and I'm still waiting on more secondaries!

Good luck to everyone!

Baylor, Baylor, Baylor 😀

O.K. Really:
1. Baylor
2. Pitt
3. SW/Stanford

How about 5?

Case
Vermont
Stanford
Ohio State
Cincinatti

(in no particular order)

Well. Here are my top 3, in no particular order.

Mich
Wash U
Hopkins

This is a "**** my pants if I get in" list. 😉

1) Yale
2) Rochester
3) Dartmouth

Also applying to 15 others

my top 3 choices, altho order still bit fuzz

1. stanf
2. harv
3. ucla/ucsf

good choice relatively primed

Speaking from experience, I can guarantee you that most of you will change you minds after you do your interviews (unless you buy into this USNews crap like it is a religion). Of my top 3 before interviewing, only one remained after interviewing, and at that it fell from 1st to 2nd. My top choice was not one I would have expected (UCSD).

My current list without having gone to see medical schools.
  1. UCI
  2. USC
  3. UCLA/Drew
    [/list=1]

Well I can only speak for myself but my choices have nothing to do with the US News and World Report bull-shiznit. I've known that was a total fraud ever since I was applying to undergrad.

Yeah, Diogenes you're right. In fact, that's the reason I created this topic. I thought it would be interesting to see how our choices will evolve as we interview or get rejected or whatever else that may happen.

For clarification purposes

Of the schools to which you are ACTUALLY APPLYING TO, which 3 do you want to go to the most? If possible, please rank them as well.

Keep 'em coming folks!!

If all else fails, I've got an apprenticeship lined up with old man Yarborough down the street. He's gonna teach me how to doctor.

wherever i get in.

1. U of San Fran
2. Stanford
3. U of Kansas

Number 1 and 2 are a pretty big reach. I got a decent shot at #3. I got U of Kansas ranked above alot of other schools cause its close to home, alot cheaper, and is located in an urban area.

my choices r based on proximity to nice looking undergrad girls and weather/or fun of the city that the school is located in and reputation

Maryland
Rush
UofChicago

Top 3... period no order needed...

all your lists will change after interviewing at the schools.

Maybe... but I've already visited quite a few schools... just in passing. I'm sure my list will change, but I think my #1's will stay....

I'm not a 2003er but my top schools have always been

1. Mount Sinai (though their recent financial difficulties has made me begin to think)
2. Stony Brook (Went to see it several times and I love the atmosphere)
3. Downstate aka SUNY Brooklyn (It's three blocks from my house... nuff said)

Here's my list...

1)UNC
2)ECU
3)Vanderbilt/George Washington/MCG...subject to change

Ideally, I'd love to get out of Chapel Hill (been here 9 years, great town and a great school, but it's time for a change). However, if I get accepted to UNC it'll be really hard to turn them down.

1) Stanford
2) Harvard
3) UVA
4) Yale/Pritzker/Northwestern
5) Dartmouth/University de Florida

Do you mean Loyola? Just curious but why do you rank it so low? 😕

It's in my top three and I've heard nothing but great things about the place.
