In the olden days, you could do cardiac and be well trained to do vascular procedures as well. cardiac surgery is mostly vascular anyway.
Now- There are still some programs that the CT residents do alot of vascular, but probably few that will give you enough cases to do the complex endovasc stuff you need to know how to do these days....
any CT surgeon can do a carotid, fem pop or aorta.
Maybe a good way to do things is 2yr CT residency, then 1 yr vascular specialized. but remember, you dont want to be a resident all of your life!!
