Pros

• 15 minutes from home, would save close to 100k over 4 years.
• Small class size (120-130)
• Good match list and Comlex 1 performance.
• Rotations fairly close to school

Cons

• Clicker sessions make for basically mandatory attendance.
• Low comlex 2 pass rate
• Rotation quality may not be the best compared to NYIT

NYIT
Pros

• Good match list
• Global health program
• Good connections to NYC area
• Non mandatory attendance

Cons

• Tuition/COA (94-100k per year)
• Declining comlex 1 scores and pass rates
• Class size of 300+

Summary: narrowed down my acceptances to these two schools and am trying to figure out where would set me up best for success. I’m currently interested in pursuing anesthesiology though that may change once in school. I don’t plan on staying in the northeast upon graduation.

NYITCOM. More established school, better connections and rotations, pass/fail system as opposed to Z-scale grading.

In 2018, NYITCOM matched more students (15) in anesthesiology than Touro NY (4)
