Has anyone heard from TUN yet? They sent me an e-mail 7 days ago saying that my application has undergone the review process and will take up to 4 weeks. Today marks the end of the first week.

Wish everyone luck on their apps!

Yeah saw that a response not too long ago. Hopefully there are still a good number of seats still available. It is still relatively early in the application cycle so I am staying optimistic.

That's awesome! Thank you so much, that gives me a little peace of mind at least. I got the 4 weeks email on September 23rd. I'm actually really excited to hear from TUN, living there would work out really well for my lady and I. Plus, rent is cheap and the apartment complexes in Henderson (at least that I have seen) are like resorts.

Just got my acceptance email today for Touro. I applied at the beginning of september. Still waiting on my other schools but very excited that I will definitely be going to PT school in the fall. Especially since I did not get in anywhere the last cycle. Good luck everyone!

I just received my acceptance email from Touro Nevada this earlier this week. Congrats to the others that got in. To those still waiting, stay positive. The waiting is agonizing but its well worth the stress.

Hey everyone! Congrats to those who already have been accepted and good luck to everyone else who applied. I am a current DPT student at TUN and I am more than happy to assist any of you with questions/concerns you may have. I won't be able to check this everyday but I assure you that if you message me you will get a reply back within a week. Also, I will not sugarcoat anything. I will give you my honest opinion. With that being said, I have enjoyed my time at TUN and can't wait for another cohort to join me on this great experience.

AHHHH! I'M IN!!

Hey guys, I just got my acceptance letter yesterday, 10/8. I received the "4 weeks email" on the 9/23. I'm so excited! I'm about 95% certain that I'll be going to Touro, even if I get accepted to some of the other schools I applied to, Touro just seems like it will work out very well for my situation.

This is such a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I'm a reapplicant, so it's great that my dream of becoming a PT is going to come true!

@matt: what time did TUN e-mail ya?

I got the email at 3:07pm, but I'm on the east coast... so I guess they would have sent it around noon. In the email it also says that there should be a letter coming soon with more information and stuff about the deposit that needs to be put down.

I hope you hear soon! I bet you will by the end of this week.

@AlexFLA:

I actually live in Henderson and I can tell you that's it's pretty awesome! Think quiet, family-oriented suburb less than 20 mins from the excitement of the Strip. Low crime, decent weather (except summers are BRUTALLY hot. 100-120 degrees 24 hours a day!) Everything you could need is either within walking distance or within a 10 minute drive. We've also got great parks, bike/ running paths, Lake Mead, Mt Charleston, and Red Rock if you're an outdoor enthusiast like me : )

In a nutshell.... Henderson rocks.

@TUN15:

Thanks for offering to answer our questions about the school. It always helps to hear what an actual current student has to say. I actually do have some questions, if you don't mind...

Since the program is relatively new (in its accreditation anyway), do you feel like they are still working out a lot of kinks? Or do you feel like the program runs pretty smoothly?

What's your opinion on TUN's graduation/ exam pass rate being lower than the national average?

Lastly, how does their Jewish sponsorship play a role in their academics? I'm not Jewish (I'm actually Catholic) and I'm concerned about the conflicting religious views potentially negatively affecting my education there.

Thanks for all of your help and good luck! Maybe I'll see you there next year!

I'm still in the process of filling out my application and planning on taking my GRE at the end of October. I know that Touro is doing rolling admission. In all honesty, do you guys think that it's still early enough to turn in my application or is it too late?

The Touro deadline is 2/3/14 so I think you are good. Apply away. I'm still writing my supplemental essay and I"m still gonna apply afterward.

Hello! Could you possibly tell me a little more about living in Henderson? I was accepted to Touro and it's likely that I'm going to be attending. There are a couple schools I need to hear back from in California, but I'm not certain about my competitiveness for those schools.

Are there any areas that I would or would not want to live in? When I look at apartments online, they seem so awesome. So many of the apartments look like resorts and have great amenities (like in unit washer and dryer!) and all kinds of perks. I will be living there with my lady and we'll be splitting the cost so we will be able to afford a little more than if I were to just be getting a place by myself.

I'm so happy to hear someone from Henderson saying that Henderson rocks. We love the outdoors and hiking so it sounds great!

I bet you'll get in. I don't see how you wouldn't. While my prereq GPA and GRE are a little higher than yours, your cum GPA is higher than mine and you've got WAY more ECs than I do (I barely had any) and your observation hours are more than plenty.

I'm actually really surprised you haven't heard yet because I think we submitted our apps within 1-2 days of each other.

Hey hmmmatt, I currently go to TUN and can tell you about Henderson. There really is not a bad area to live in Henderson. A lot of people don't know but a couple years ago Henderson was ranked #66 best place to live in America. When you start talking about areas not to live in then I would stay away from North Las Vegas and certain areas of Las Vegas. The apartments near school offer a variety of amenities depending on your price range. I currently live in The Edge which is a new apartment complex less than a mile from school and it has two pools, clubhouse, gym, movie room, etc... Henderson/Las Vegas offers a lot of outdoor activities. You can hike Mt. Charleston or red rock or go cliff jumping at Nelson's Landing. Even right next to school is a short 2 mile trail that is really cool.

Good luck with your other schools and if you have any questions about the program feel free to ask me.

ah still no word from them. I guess they really will take the whole 4 weeks to review the application.

Do they notify you via e-mail before receiving any physical copy of anything?

Yeah they will e-mail you first. Then a few days later you get a letter in the mail that has information about how to log onto your TUN account and pay the deposit. I'm sending in my deposit later today!

Called Mr. Wilson's office and his message said that he will be gone from the office all week. Is the admissions committee going to be the one to be sending out the e-mails?

Yeah I got my e-mail from Mr. Wilson. I just submitted my deposit and emailed him afterwards to say thank you and asked him to let me know if anything is wrong with my payment so I can fix it quickly. I got his out-of-office message saying that he will be back in the office on the 21st, but that he will have access to his email while he is out and will reply to messages.

I don't think it would hurt to contact them. You would probably be fine e-mailing Mr. Wilson. He's really good at getting back to students pretty quickly, at least that has been my experience. There was a lot of talk on here before about some lady named Jenya or something and how much trouble everyone was having getting any information from anyone, but I guess they were going through a staffing change. It seems to all be much better now, as I've had no problems. It has actually been pretty painless. Do you have Mr. Wilson's email address? If not I could PM it to you.

Or you could call. I'm just more of an e-mail (when I can) type of guy I guess, hah.
