Does anyone know if the official transcript that your undergraduate school provides you with on their website is exactly the same transcript that will be sent to medical schools once accepted (provided no courses are completed in the interim period)? or do you have to have it sent directly from the school.

Generally only if you request an official copy. At least at my school, theres a difference between the free one they give students that is basically just a list of your grades, and the "official one" which costs $3 and is what they would normally send out.. The one that costs money and/or takes time for them to prepare or mail out is the one that you want.
