I heard from a friend that you could transfer pharmacy schools during your rotation year for various reasons. However, you would end up with the other state's degree. For example, if you went to University of Wisconsin Pharmacy School and decided to transfer to University of Minnesota for your rotation year, you'd end up with a Minnesota PharmD. Is this true or am I just making things up?

The latter. No school would give you a degree having only completed <25 credits there. For any degree. There is always a minimum number of "in-house credits" required, and it's about half of the degree's worth if I recall correctly.

It would require extraordinary circumstances, and even then most schools wouldn't be willing to do this. I can't envision a situation where my school would do this.

Why would anyone even want to do this in the first place?

This is certainly not something that is routinely done, and I doubt my schools would allow it. Why would a school take rotation sites away from their students who've been there for 3 years & give them to an outsider? But its probably like anything, if you know the right person at the right time, and you have extraordinary circumstances, an exception might be made. So I guess you could always ask, but like the above poster said, why would you want to? Even if you wanted it to list that you graduated from a more prestigious college, you would still have to list the schools you attended on your resume, and I'm sure most employers would question "what happened" that made you change schools your last year.
