what are the current chances of someone as a current resident in an nymc psych program to transfer into another psych program. If someone really wanted to get out, would it be possible to transfer into a program like NJMS or head down south to Drexel or anywhere else.

Transferring happens not infrequently. You need to work with your PD in order to make things happen. It should happen at the change of the academic year.
