Travel from O'Hare to Finch & Back?

For you people who have interviewed at finch, have you heard of the airport express shuttle ? Anyone have a website or phone number?

My student host said they offer a discount.

For anyone who has used a taxi/shuttle service, which one did you use?

I'm not interested in renting a car or taking a train or anything like that. I'm leaving tomorrow morning so please help me asap.

OK I'll answer my own question. I just made a reservation with chicago metropolitan limousine for $38.50 each way including tolls and taxes. Did anyone find a cheaper way?

That's not a bad price - Finch is pretty far from O'Hare. Most cabs here charge $20 just from O'Hare to downtown, so $40 isn't bad at all. I say stick with that, unless you feel like taking CTA to get further into the city first (if you don't know the city, I don't recommend this).

That price sounds reasonable, though my knowledge on paying for transportation to and from there is a little limited since Finch is only 8 miles north from my hometown. Good luck!

you catch the airport express shuttle from the baggage claim area of o'hare, close to where the cab stand is (they're outside, of course). it's been a while since i've taken one, but they generally cost around $25 a trip. at any rate, they're cheaper than cabs. i think the price you were quoted for the limo is about the same as what you'd pay for a cab, although it depends on traffic and the time of day you arrive. a limo seems a little extravagant since there are ways for you to get around for less money, but it's your choice.

Thanks sandflea, I'll check it out when I get there, and cancel the other reservation if it's cheaper. I'm getting in at 9 pm so I'm not sure if they would be running.

And it's NOT a limo! It's a van! I just listed the company name that came in my interview packet :wink: I can't afford a real limo <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />
