Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had insight into this? I've been able to find that octreotide, cyproheptadine and methysergide are all used in the treatment of carcinoid syndrome, but I can 't seem to find which one is best for flushing in particular? Any ideas?

Thanks!

From UTD, octreotide (75-80% reduced), has been shown to reduce flushing, among other symptoms and seems to be the DOC for symptomatic control.

The following are also mentioned and have been shown to specifically reduce flushing: prednisone, benadryl+H2 blocker, phenoxybenzamine, and chlorpromazine.
