This is probably a stupid question so I apologize ahead of time.
CN IV is the only motor cranial nerve to innervate a target on the side of the body contralateral to its nucleus. So is the it called left or right based on it's nucleus or based on the eye it innervates?

Wow I am finished with Step 1 and I just noticed this information... My guess is that Left Cranial Nerve innervates Left Eye , since it immediately decussates after leaving the nucleus , there is not much ''nerve'' at the right

Alas , if you had right brain stem stroke at CNIV level (midbrain) , then the SO pathology would arise at the left eye .. Thats the only importance imo
