Dear Dr. Henderson,
I'd like to get your opinion on my situation.
I was a 2.0 student my freshman and sophomore
years in college and I flunked out when I made the mistake of transferring to a
different school. I was suspended for one
semester and really matured over that time.
I went on to a third college were I have a
3.48 cum and a 28 on the mcat V-9,B-11,P-8
I put in about 2 1/2 years worth of work at
my third university, got several honors for my research, and believe that I am
a good candidate for medical school. Currently, I graduated and I'm working in a
hospital. What is your nickel analysis of my
situation? I've applied to a good many schools, and have attempted to clarify the
earlier years on my AMCAS application.

The research and clinical experience will go a long way. However, the early years are
tough to overlook. I think your admission is going to hinge on getting absolutely
outstanding letters of recommendation. I think you are doing the right thing by applying
to many schools. Your goal should be to get somewhere so you can sit down and
explain things in an interview.
I wish you the best!
