Hello Touro!
I am a MSII here at UHS-COM in Kansas City. I am the national delegate for our school AMA-MSS. Our interim meeting is in San Fran this Nov. 29-Dec 1. The problem is, there are 8 of us coming, but we don't know where to stay. Could you get us a list of affordable (under $125/night) hotels/motels? We'll have a rental car, so distance is not a problem. The conference is at the San Fran Marriott on 4th St. (starts at $250). We'd appreciate any info you might have. Thanks a bunch from your DO-friends in the mid-west.

Hi Cynthia.

I'm not from Touro/San Fran but have family
there and visit every year. There are a
lot of hotels in the area you have the
conference, however most of these are
fairly expensive ones (Marriott, Hilton,
St Francis, etc).
If you really want budget then I would suggest going to one of the Howard Johnsons
or Best Westerns, of which there are many
in that area. These work out at $80-$150/night
depending on the deal (eg AAA members get
a nice discount and its worth joining just
for it if you are there several days). Check
out their web sites eg www.bestwestern.com

The area is NOT the best area in San
Fran (south of Market) but your only other
option is the pricey ones right in Union
Square (usually ~$180-$250/night).

My only other suggestion is to use a
further flung hotel and drive...but you
will not find parking in downtown SF
easy! I'll be there Dec 9th so
I guess I'll just miss you guys.

Good luck and best wishes!
