So I am in the middle of the Tufts secondary, and I have got to the part that asks "Is there any personal reason or circimstance/history that motivates you to attend TUSM or study in Boston in particular, as opposed to attending another school or studying in another city?" with yes or no check boxes. If yes, you have to explain in a paragraph.

Is anyone answering "no"? I figure if you mark that, your app is just going to get tossed. So how is everyone else answering this question?

Probably the same way everyone answers "why school X?" Reputation, location, curriculum, history, etc. Like you insinuated, checking "no" would be foolish.

just answer yes.
but they only let you have a small space to describe your reasons so.

i mean the big reasons to even go tufts is the city (cause it sure isn't for the cost...)
for me at least...

Did you read the instructions?

For the overwhelming majority of our applicants, the correct answer to this question is simply "no." That answer is fine and perfectly acceptable - please do not feel compelled to turn to research or creative writing... ... It's OK to click "no" and move on.

I think unless you have a real convincing reason besides your love for the general location and curriculum, you should answer no. From their instructions, I think Tufts has heard enough of the BS and doesn't want anymore.

I did not see those intructions before, so thanks for pointing it out. I suppose after reading that I should simply answer no, but it just feels so awful not writing something. I imagine if you wanted to stay near family, had a spouse, family history at tufts, etc. that it would acceptable to write something. Oh well, makes that secondary that much easier.

i left it blank too...didnt think there was enough room to make my bs good 😛
