After being put on hold a few weeks ago, I was laughing with joy when I went to the mailbox the other day and saw a large envelope from Tufts. I ripped it open with out looking at the return address and found only about 8 pages of financial aid forms. I was searching for the letter of acceptance like an idiot until I read a sentence on the top form "Don't wait to apply for financial aid until you are accepted, do it now." Ugggg, a cruel joke. FYI the return address was from the Financial Aid Office. Be warned.

holy shzit.....that is cruel. thanks for the info, i'll prepare myself

Thanks for the heads up Bridgie, as mine came soon after I read your post. You saved me much grief. Honestly, there may be a bright side to this bizzare behavior on Tufts' part. If they are going through the trouble of mailing these packs to the relatively small number of folks who did not get a final decision in December, it probably means that they are serious about accepting many of us. "Do not wait until you are accepted to apply for financial aid" -- i.e. you probably will get in so plan as if you will. Or is this wishful thinking?

Since I haven't been offered an interview from my super longshot schools (yale!?@!) -- and probably will not -- Tufts is now my number one choice. I want to send a follow up letter before my file is reviewed again in January -- any thoughts on how one should best do this? Formal letter? email to Mr. Slavin?

has anyone been rejected from tufts post-interview?

I was rejected post interview, I was surprised because I was accepted or waitlisted at the other 8 schools I interviewed at. I was particularly surprised because they have such a high post interview acceptence rate. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

were you rejected post interview this cycle? When did you find out?

Being deferred or whatever they call it sucks!

yale did same - huge financial aid package, when acceptances - as far as i know - don't go out until march.
