I got an admit at tulane.

I gathered that it is a good research university with 13th rank for 2008 MPH.
I am an international student and the cost is on a bit higher side for me.
Is it worth it?

I have applied to and waiting to hear from -
Minnesota, U. Alabama, UMDNJ, Drexel, St. Louis, Loma Linda,
Texas A&M, UNTHSC, NIU and FIU, CSUN and SCSU.

Would you recommend any of the above MPH instead of Tulane - in terms of education and future opportunities for research and job ?
Would you recommend any programs that I should not consider.

Thanks and Regards.

Tulane has a strong public health program, particularly in tropical medicine. What are your public health interests? How did you choose the schools to which you applied?

I have applied for Epi. program.
I will be interested in medical epidemiology and pursuing DrPH / research in cardiovascular / cancer / diabetes epi.

I could not do the amount of research in selection of schoolds that I would have liked.
I must admit that my knowledge about schools is limited to rankings, browsing student doctor network MPH forum and overview of school web sites.

I considered following in choosing schools to apply:
ASPH / ceph recognized, some probability to get an admission, meeting application deadline and minimum admission requirements, and cost.
I have very good public health experience but low gre scores.
I will be spending entire family savings and then will borrow some.
I am looking for a program that will prepare me with good education, and hopefully provide an opportuity to work for few years on H1 visa after completion of studies to recover the education cost, and then work for international organization, if possible in India.

Namazu:
With these additional details, do you have any words of advise ?

Thanks.
