So I'm already line up to do a summer research project, but I don't expect it to be an incredible amount of work because it's not the most labor intensive project. I was thinking of supplementing it with another smaller project. Do any of you guys have ideas? I've heard about going through old cases and maybe doing something like that. I plan to meet with an advisor, but I would like to go in with ideas so she could help me better.

Your best bet is to ask your adviser what questions still need to be answered. I don't know what field you are speaking of, so I can't answer that question for you. Some review literature searches in the 'conclusion/future studies' section may lead you toward questions that still need to be answered.
