hey guys do you know if u of a sends out acceptances starting on the 15th of jan or is it the 31st? i could have sworn the lady had said the 15th is when the first batch goes out but on their site it says the 31st hoping for the 15th wooo.. i mean if i get in there, oh well life goes on but eh woudl be nice to know

People got the acceptances in the mail starting Jan 25th last year...

The ADCOM will never tell you that they are going to get them out sooner. But it has been my experience that they send out acceptances as soon as they have completed that group of acceptances. So if they happen to finish a week earlier, that will be when they send them out. The dates that have always been given were January 30, February 15 and March 15 (1/3 of acceptances in each mailing). Anyone heard anything about if the first batch of acceptances will be sent out early or not (before Jan 30th)? Just wondering, I'm getting tired of waiting.

I don't know, but I think they will start sending letters [and emails] next week.

Good luck to all other ohpefulls than this week, if that is true that would be nice to hear! Id LOVE an acceptance right about now!!!!!! Then i can quit studying for mcat! soooner the betttter

I'm keeping my fingers crossed too. I wonder if they send out an equal amount of acceptances each time (i.e. 33-35 on the 31st of January and then another 33-35 in February). I'm sure your all as anxious as I am to hear from them, but if indeed it is only 1/3 of 100 (or 110) total acceptances, then that would only be around 30 or so letters out of 500 applications. It's always harder to wait, when the school is your #1 choice school. Good luck to everyone....and I hope to see some of you U of A hopefuls in the fall!

That is my understanding that they will be sending out exactly 1/3 of all the acceptances . . . so around 33-35.

Do you know if the U of A sends out an acceptance e-mail as well as a letter? If so, do they send that out before sending the letter? I'd like to know what form of communication I should look for first. Thanks, good luck to you all!

woudl ya stop scaring me!! each time i see this thread pop up i thinksomone has gotten in then i get scared to check my box! i think they send snail mail and then emails later in the process good luck!

They send emails. They also sent emails today to "all applicants" about financial aid...which will probably give people heart attacks when they see an email from UA. I love it!

Ya no **** i woke up and checked my real and emial and nothing today.. so if they indeed went out friday i did NOT make the first cut!!!!!!! but eh.. was i really thinking i would.. um no.. Good luck to all other UA people!!!!! it looks like im waiting for next cut baby wooooo

I think it is very unlikely that email notifications went out to anyone on Friday.

I just heard (by word of mouth) that the first round of acceptances was delivered by email on Friday. Again this is just what I heard from someone, but it's a source I trust. Good luck...

A UA student said the first two waves of acceptances are all about equal.

Perhaps that can make some of us feel better for not getting anything yet...

The school might have the same level of interest in people in both groups. It might not be like The top 30 (or whatever the number is) get the first batch, then the next best thirty. But we'll never really know what goes on over there.

Before last year, I know of several instances of applicants to UA who were rejected but ended up going to Top Ten schools and were really competitive applicants. It seemed as if UA rejected them because they 'would not go there anyway.' That just doesn't make sense to me, how could they not want the best students? Anyway, they did not seem to do that last year, so who knows what their up to this round...

I can confirm this. A friend of mine told me tonight she got her acceptance on Friday. I hope you all hear good news soon 🙂

Got my U of A acceptance on Friday, too. I interviewed in September, the first week of interviews, so there may be some corelation between interview day and consideration before the committee. What do I know, though?

They also sent out a finacial aid email, too, very thorough and very comprehensive with deadlines and items to consider. I'm quite impressed with U of A's organization through this entire process!
