For anyone who is wondering how people who haven't been verified are getting secondaries, it's because AMCAS apparently sends preliminary info to the med schools letting them know that you will apply there. I got an email from U of Chicago telling me that although they haven't received my AMCAS application (since I haven't been verified) they still got word that I had chosen to apply there from my primary application. As for the 45 min time limit, I'm assuming U of C is doing that to preserve bandwidth. They don't want applicants hogging bandwidth on their app for days on end. Unless you have an unbelievably long name or some other strange circumstance 45 min should be plenty of time to enter the personal info and cut and paste your essays.
