Well, there are tons of reasons why you should go to U of Mn over the other two. First, the hospitals are excellent and there are a lot of them, as somebody else pointed out. Abbott Northwestern and Fairview University are both in the top 50 in 7 specialties and several of the other hospitals in the area ranked highly for at least one specialty. The patient population will be MUCH more diverse than either of the other cities, as we have the highest population of Hmong and Somali people in the United States, according to the 2000 census. With the sheer size of the metro area, compared to Rochester or Madison, you will have many more opportunities for everything, both academic and otherwise: Pro sports teams in every sport, tons of live music, bars and theatres, and around 20 lakes within the city limits. The cost of living isn't that high (check out

I've spent a lot of time in Madtown, and it's a great place to party and have fun. However, once that wears off, there's not a whole lot to do. I don't know anything about Rochester.
