U Pitt - interview without secondary?

So they sent me a secondary and then the next day an interview request (I haven't done the secondary yet). Is it common for them to invite to interview without a secondary? Now I gotta buy ANOTHER plane ticket...

I got an interview before I completed the secondary, as part of consideration for a scholarship program. You might hear about that soon.

so during my interview with Dean Curtiss we were talking abotu the review process and that I had been invited before I had finished the secondary...quoting him directly "it means I love you"

so you got a great chance at getting in, buy that plane ticket if its one of your top choices

though i'll be pretty sad if i dont get in after getting my hopes up

Are those of you who received interviews before submitting the secondary completing the secondary before your interview date, or even completing the secondary at all?
