Would those who have interviewed at UAB please give some feedback on what the interviews were like/any tough questions/etc.?

Go to interviewfeedback.com This site provides a comprehensive review of interviews at all medical schools. The Adcom at UAB monitors it from time to time and I would have to say that the comments are accurate. Pretty low stress. Don't worry and good luck.

Thanks. I have looked at interviewfeedback.com, but there are very few feedback posts from this year's interviews thus far. I would appreciate feedback from others that have interviewed.

I'd have to agree with grunermann. It's very low stress...unless you have a certain interviewer who's known for giving applicants a hard time. They just want to get to know you. I wasn't asked any ethical questions...only questions regarding me and my extracurriculars. Basically, a few activities on my AMCAS had caught the interviewers' attentions, so I was asked about those.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the posts. For those of you that have time, will you please visit interviewfeedback.com and give us all some current feedback on UAB.

i interviewed there last week. there were around 17-20 other applicants. we started off in a conference room and were given info about the school, watched a video about the school, and were given a chance to ask Dr. Smith questions. we each had a packet listing our interview schedules for the day. each applicant has 3 one-on-one, 30 minute interviews. interviews are done by 11:30 and we all went to lunch together. enter the current med students. we split into smaller groups and were given tours of the hospital, labs, etc. while we were eating and touring, the interviewers gathered to assign us our final rankings. if your ranking is high enough, you will have an acceptance e-mail by the end of the month that is followed by a letter. if not, you are still not out of it but will have to wait a while to hear either way. no specific questions to mention, the interviewers just asked about your file and background, why UAB, etc. nothing stressful.

Keith, I appreciate your reply. Any others who have interviewed, if you have time, please reply.

I interviewed there in December, and it's all pretty low stress. Beware, though, they fed us spaghetti and meat sauce for lunch; kind of an odd choice for a bunch of candidates dressed in their Sunday Best. Maybe it was a test to see if you could do it gracefully.

I interviewed at UAB in November. I suppose it went well (I received an acceptance the next week). They are notorious for relaxed interviewing. Most wanted to know about me personally. I will warn you, however, my second interviewer (Dr. Shelton) went "no holds barred" with an array of ethical questions. He has also been known to ask extremely personal questions (to those of you who interviewed with him, you know what I mean). Don't sweat it though, just smile and be honest, relaxed, and most importantly be yourself. If you do that, you can't go wrong. ;) By the way, I have decided to go to UAB. I think its one of medicine's best kept secrets. <img src="graemlins/wowie.gif" border="0" alt="[Wowie]" />

Congratulations Phillip! Any other feedback would be appreciated. Also, if you have time, please go to interviewfeedback.com and post.
