The UC Davis Department of Dermatology in Sacramento, CA is offering a 1 year medical student research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Emanual Maverakis.

Description: Fellows will participate in a variety of clinical and translational research projects. Dr. Maverakis's expertise is in immune-mediated skin diseases including scleroderma, autoimmune blistering diseases and psoriasis. Responsibilities include participation in weekly dermatology clinics, Department of Dermatology Grand Rounds, writing manuscripts and presenting work at national conferences, and assisting with a number of investigator-initiated clinical/translational research projects in conjunction with Dr. Maverakis's basic science laboratory. The fellowship is designed for highly motivated medical students who are planning to pursue dermatology residency training.

Eligibility: US medical students who have completed at least 2 years of medical education and have taken USMLE Step 1.

Availability: Starting July 1, 2017 but date is flexible. Fellowship offers are usually made for 1 year, but length of time is customizable to the medical student’s goals. Stipends are available on a case-to-case basis.
