UCI and their one month deadline

How strict is UCI about getting the letter of recommendations in within a month. I am waiting for some letters that I want to include in the packet but I don't know if it's worth the risk. Also my schools letter of reference has been know to be notoriously slow so some factors are out of my hands. Help please!

i called them and they told me as long as it's within ~2 weeks after it's due it's ok. i actually just found out on friday that mine actually aren't going to be in until a lot later (my profs still haven't gotten them in), so i'm just going to call and tell them my situation. i don't think they're that strict on it though, because they know that you don't have that much control over the rec situation.

Thanks you so much! I was getting stressed over the situation because I didn't read the instructions too closely until today. My professors have been dragging their feet even though I gave them a deadline that was a few weeks ago. Was the admissions office nice when you called?

Yup, my letters got there after the "due" date and they didn't care.

UCI is one of the nicest schools to deal with, the staff is very helpfull and they pick up their phone all the time, awesome area, beach nextdoor... keeping my fingers crossed for an interview there.

It's one of my top choices. I spend many summers there and each one of my classes have been filled with the nicest people. I really like the campus too. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us. 🙂

The person I talked to on the phone was a bit prickly, maybe it was just a bad time of day.
