Which would give me a better chance at med school and a better experience?

UCI: honors biomedical engineering. Got the major I want. honors seems helpful for research. A little too close to home so I may not get the college experience

UCSD: biology. seems enriched with research. slightly higher prestige. will get a college experience in a dorm and all. seems more lively but maybe not.

thanks!

Wrong forum. I can't imagine how you managed to scroll past a page worth of medical forums to the pre-PT forum, lol.

Although if you want to apply to PT school I can tell you that this difference will literally not change you're chances of admission whatsoever. I am fairly confident it won't have any big effect of your chances of med school admission either. College is mostly what you make of it.

Can only speak for UCSD.

Research: We have Salk, Scripps, LIAI, Sanford Regenerative Med all at a walking distance from the campus.

Better experience:
Nightlife - isn't happening at UCSD. If you're on dorms then there are the parties of course, but La Jolla isn't exactly a happening area (it's essentially the hometown of rich executives). We have a shuttle system that takes you to Pacific Beach, Downtown, and Hillcrest...all of those areas are really fun and fairly affordable.
Beaches - It's down the road from campus, if you like surfing, paragliding, or just running on the beach then it's great to have.

Also, it's fairly easy to switch from Bio to BME at UCSD. BME works with the entire Health Sciences division so you'll see a lot of research.

They're both great schools, go to the one you like the best. And IMO, the college experience is overrated.

Oh its relatively easy to change major to BME? I though that UCSD was extra impacted for BME since it is a top ranking school in that field? I heard it was super hard like I have to take certain classes and get like a 4.0 to switch?

Hmm perhaps. Did you hear that from Ucsd BME student affairs?
