This is old news but I have something new to add. I just called the UCLA admissions office (or should I say David Geffen school of medicine admissions office), and was informed formally that all appeals are under review. I believe we should all hear by about two weeks via snail mail. I believe UCLA will make the appeals decision batch go out along with any decisions made from the loosely predetermined May 15th deadline. I really don't have any hope for an interview through this appeal but at least I will be glad that I have tried.

Good luck to all.

All decisions are not being sent out at once. There were 60 applicants who appealed their pre-interview rejection and the committee has been sending out responses to these appeals by mail as they have been reviewing the appeals. I think that one person whose friend posted was already invited for an interview based on her appeal last saturday.

Anyone else receive any responses, positive or negative, regarding their pre-interview rejection appeal?

did she appeal last Saturday? Or was she invited last Saturday? I am bummed to have appealed so late (just one week ago) but I didn't know that it could even be done. Does anyone know if there is a correlation with how early you send in your appeal and the chances of interviewing?

They are reviewing all of the appeals at the same time, so it shouldn't matter when you submitted your appeal as long as it is included in the files that are to be re-reviewed. But what it probably does mean is that you will be one of the last people to hear about your appeal just because you will be reviewed towards the end.

I didn't appeal but got my secondary 8 months after they recieved my primary. At that time I had a couple acceptances and I was pretty tired and frustrated so I decided to not submit UCLA's secondary. Well, I decided to send it anyway just last week (May 2nd).

Anyway, I called today as well, and the Lady told me that everyone should hear something (appealees and regulars) by the end of the month.

The deadline was May 10th. I think they gave me 8 weeks to submit and I submitted the 7th week. Honestly, I'm not expecting anything in terms of good news, but at least I won't be wondering years later: "What if I had been granted an interview and accepted at David Geffen School of Film?" Opps, I meant school of medicine!
