Maybe somebody asked this already, but how does this whole thing actually work. What happens when they request an interview on the status page. Why is there a request in the transcript box? Do they give us dates?

Can someone elaborate on this stuff for me thanks.

i would guess that there's just a glitch on your status page and that you've been invited for an interview. congrats!

they'll send you stuff in the mail asking for dates that you would like to interview. after they confirm your interview date, the "request" will change to "scheduled" as for the transcript, request one from your school to be sent to UCLA SOM. afer it's been received, the "request" will change to "received".

I actually was going to write it tonight. And I checked to make sure they had not made a decision already pre-interview and those things where there. I think they do help. I was told that at UCLA they put everything in your file so it cannot hurt.

I am excited!

So do we choose our own dates or are there dates on the letter? Too bad I will not be home for another week.

yes, they are. I called admissions yesterday. The LAST batch of invites is going out mid-March.

Edit: according to your mdapps page, aren't you already in med school? If so, why on earth would you want to call admissions offices?
