FINALLY!!! AFTER ALL THIS TIME (SINCE AUGUST TO BE EXACT) I HAVE RECEIVED THE SECONDARY APPLICATION TO MY NUMBER 1 CHOICE...I know this doesn't mean anything but just to hear that I have not been rejected by them yet means alot...now I gotta write the best damn essays in the world and we'll see what happens...I hope some of you who were waiting like me already received the good news. I checked my application status online and that's how I found out, I'm pretty sure the snail letter will be arriving pretty soon..talk to you all later peeps,

I just checked their update site and they have also requested a secondary from me.
Do they usually reject people before or after secondary. I don't feel like wasting more money for a thin envelope.

hey, can you tell us what makes UCLA your clear #1 choice? What is it about ucla?
I'm curious to know b/c I was fortunate enough to get an interview invitation as an outofstater and will be there soon. I've never been to LA b4! I'm wondering how UCLA is differnt from other east coast schools (where I'm from)

UCLA actually doesn't give the secondary to 45% of the people who apply, so you are kind of special. But don't hold you breath for the small envelope saying fill out the secondary. I never got the snail mail, and it's a month after thy asked me to fill out the secondary.

I was just curious whether those of you who got a secondary had completion notices on your UCLA status check. I am a bit confused by mine because the secondary line is blank, yet my application is complete.
I sent in my secondary a while ago, so I just assumed that it was complete since my letters of rec line also indicated complete. Am I wrong about this? Did you guys have something written on the line that says "secondary"

Mine says "recieved" on the secondary line and then lists the date they recieved it. If yours says complete though, I wouldn't worry about it. If it still bugs you, maybe call them and check?

hey chef, there are actually a number of reasons why UCLA is my number 1 choice. Besides the obvious great location and weather all year round, and the emotional attachment I have to UCLA (my wife goes there ) I know that UCLA is expanding in the health sciences. A new hospital is being built right now, they have great programs that help the underserved communities of Los Angeles (Lennox Health Fairs, etc) and the CMSA (Chicanos/Latinos Medical Student Association) is one of the most active groups of its kind in the whole nation. Their Pediatrics department is one of the best in the nation and that is the specialty that I'm leaning towards. The students there seem very laid back and enjoy their time there. There's no pressure and hardcore competition like in some other schools. Well I don't know that else to tell you, but good luck in your interview and hopefully I'll get one as well
