How long was your turnaround time from app complete to interview invite? My app's been complete for about a month and I'm wondering when they stop interviewing.

    hey lollipop,

    yea... about same time, mid-dec... 2 frikken months <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> , hehe

    ah well.

weeble, it's been a while, but i think it was a little over a month, but keep in mind the whole setting an interview date thing takes a bit of time... 'cuz they have to send you list of possible dates, then you pick one, then they confirm

  6. no secondary, no rejection yet..... they have had my UC app since 8/22.

I am a UCLA alum with GPA and MCAT above their averages. Hearing the stories about UCLA med... I have lost a lot of repsect for them.

They too have had my primary since 8/22 and I haven't heard anyting regarding a secondary. I've interviewed at Stanford, and will be going to SF this comming week; so I expected at least a secondary from UCLA. I think there's at least one more guy I know of on this forum that has this identical 8/22 date and hasn't heard anything. Might our applications be lost somewhere? Or maybe something else that went wrong; There's tons of people that submitted after us and they have already recieved secondaries and interviewed.

FYI - I called UCLA yesterday and my file is still under review. They said it would be a few weeks. They confirmed that it was being reviewed for a secondary. So, it does appear that they are very delayed. I was told that interviews would continue through May and not to worry that I was still eligible. Keep the faith all.

    mine was submitted

    8/18

maybe they saved the first for last just to punish those who like to get things done; or maybe they are just tired of signing rejections.

hey people, my UC app was complete around the same time as you guys, and I received their secondary about a month ago. Here is some advice, I wrote a really nice update letter, telling them how wonderful they are, and what I have been doing since submitting my UC app (after 5 months!!!), a month later, I get their secondary!!! Anyways good luck to all of you!

to those UCLA alums who don't want to stay at UCLA - how can you not love your campus? Have u been to the med campuses on the east coast? We have to literally dodge bullets and knives to stay alive .. :D Well, it's hard to believe someone would get so tired of such a nice place.

Oh pleeeeeez. I did most of my volunteer work in free clinics in South Central. i.e. dodgin bullets.

I agree UCLA's campus is gorgeous, the weather is nice, and the ladies are hot...but you know what? I'm tired of the LA attitude. I just want a change. I think it would be cool to live on the East coast for a while.

  17. I loved UCLA but I want something different for the next 4 years of my life. UCLA's campus is unbelievably gorgeous..... but I like the midwest and East Coast schools.
