No, a rejection and being put on hold are not the same.
 
yeah, they're not the same thing. Everyone I've talked to has got the hold for interview thing. I guess that they are waiting until they get all the applicants or something. I don't know.
 
well has anyone gotten rejected, or has everyoneeeeee gotten a a hold for interview?

also people from last year, did anyone get an interview after being put on hold?

I did not say that they were the SAME i said that they are BASICALLY the same.

If you are put on hold for an interview it is sort of like a waitlist in order to get an interview. Every once in a while they pull someone off and give them an interview, but for the most part it's kinda like getting a rejection....
 
at ucsd, people in the "hold" category are reviewed every month.
 
Joe joe you happen to know how many people are put on hold, or how many are taken off, any info like that?
