Hey that is great work!!..GN and Desi Dentist
I like your quote IDP revolution! Has a nice ring to it!
I sure hope they will release results sooner---and these schools -UOP and UCSF-know very well that they are TOP NOTCH schools and students
will any day DEFER their admissions at other schools just to get into their schools. Last year I know 4 of my classmates from dental school from back in my home country who did just that --deferred their seats just to get into UOP / UCSF/ UCLA/ UPENN ...because these are the best schools..! It really does depend on what you look for in your education.---
Specialty, career path, life style, and amount of debt, traditional teaching or PBL, Reputation of the school.
I would focus on these areas to make the right decision.
UOP-
-Fee- 200k
-Teaching-
Traditional lecture format and notes 👍
-Facilities-Top Notch-100% modern and up-to-date on the latest techniques and practice management technology/-Labs are the best and top notch- got to see it to believe it/ Best clinical facilities
-Board Passing Rate- Very good!
-Area- San Francisco! What can beat that!
🙂
-Great schools to go to if you want to specialize; -research oriented institution
-UOP is also known for its extremely good clinical program, right next to fillmore street where all the restaurants, bars and coffee shops are, (one of the best streets in SF)!!
-Pacific Pride day-If you had a chance to attend one of these- you know what Im talking about!- school has an open house to potential applicants and family to come and check out the school. -tours, fin aid info, research displays.
- Also heard that the students do well in licensing exams
UCSF ~
-Fee- (from their website-Tuition is $13,375* per quarter plus a first year mandatory instrument/laboratory kit fee of approximately $23,000, paid in four equal payments of approximately $5,750 (includes handpieces, articulators, endodontic apex locators, touch and heat instrument, cavitron, various hand instruments, etc). Entering students receive a list of fees and expenses applicable to the IDP curriculum prior to matriculation.)
-Teaching-
Traditional lecture format and notes- tops the nation in clinical productivity
-Facilities- Great!
-Research-Great-amount of funds received from NIH for research--good school to go to if you want to specialize; i think its a very research oriented institution
-Patients-tons of patients in SF- students here seem to have little trouble finding enough patients/procedures to fulfill their requirements--do tons of lab work!
-UCSF (in my opinion) is a well-rounded program that produces good general dentists and great specialists
Area-view of the golden gate bridge, the ocean, the city
😀
Check this thread regarding UCSF research! .It tops in research funding too!
