Hey guys, after getting the same news from Davis that I got at SF, I need to think positive.

I'm hoping for a NorCal acceptance, and since I might have to wait a while for Davis, I thought I'd start a thread where we could talk about the SF waitlist.

I'm on the top-half of the list, and there have been two people that have gotten in so far. Anyone else heard anything?

When do you think they'll start sending out acceptances again?

I don't really have anything to add, but I'm on the second half of the list. Just pulling for all those who really wanna go to UCSF. I'd love to go, but I feel chances are slim to nome. Good luck you guys.

Hey Blanch...

I'm such a chicken! I called the office yesterday about sending my transcripts after I graduate (this Saturday!)

The lady seemed kinda irritated, and in a hurry, so I didn't bother to ask about waitlist movement. I'm thinking of many emailing them and asking them how the movement is coming. I probably won't though. I'm scared of it affecting my status. I know it probably won't, but it scares me nonetheless.

Can someone call for us? 😀

cbpremed i'm right there with you on the second half. i know what you mean...feeling pretty down about it. but i guess we have a sliver of hope left. i mean the first person on the second half and the last person on the first half have basically the same chance, right?? so just maybe.....in a perfect world....all the half-hearted-first-halfers and untouchable-crazy-brilliant-people-on-high-powered-waitlists-elsewhere will give up their UCSF spots to US! YEEHAW!

Does anyone know whether second halfers even have chance? From past years' facts? I was so depressed when I got that letter saying that i'm among the second half.

to answer your question ronin if you read the old sdn stuff, sounds pretty unlikely that second-halfers make it in. but there's gotta be the tiniest hope, and that's better than nothing, right?

and ucsb- i'm pretty chicken too. called today to check if they received my update and they sounded like they were at the end of there rope with WLers. didn't wanna push my luck. oh yeah and we forgot the impossible parking situation in sf. and traffic. and people getting hit by muni buses. stay away from SF, whew it is not worth it.

My homie lives in Berkeley, but I don't know if it was email, call or what. We haven't talked since she called and told me the deal. Maybe she could sense I was a little upset....but oh well. 🙂
I know, it seems to be hopeless for us second half people...but who knows, maybe an email or call to the right person might help.
What do you guys think?
