1. If you can get into UF then it's probably a good idea.
2. I would hold off on the DAT, while the forms say that it only covers the basic classes, I had questions that I learned in my a+p and micro classes as well.

I was in the same situation as you at the end of my freshman year, as whether or not to transfer to UF from UCF. the thing is they take over half the class from UF undergrad but there are also about 400 applicants a year out of UF to their dental school, so to stick out of that crowd of applicants would be difficult to say the least, I felt that staying at UCF would give me more of a chance to shine.

i took my dat the summer going into my junior year. i liked taking it early because i didnt have to worry about it.
