How is O2 a negative one only, I thought that was peroxides. Huh?

I'm verbatim quoting from TPR; K+1 and O2 -1. I put KO2 because it should be what, +4/-4? Trumping +3/-6...
 
If you thought that potassium can exist in a +4 oxidation state, you done goofed. O2- is called superoxide. I am not sure why you are so confused.
