Hi everyone,
I hope secondaries are going well for you (if you haven't received any yet, I hope you do soon). I actually have a pretty big pile here to do, so I'm slightly overwhelmed and going bonkers on these questions. 😱

The University of Health Sciences secondary is kind of confusing me. On the last page, it leaves approximately 3/4 page of space. It says:

"List any other information you believe is pertinent to your application such as, but not limited to, motivation for applying to UHS-COM, qualities you have to offer, uniqueness, leadership roles, life experiences, etc."

Such an open question. I'm so used to the essay-mode with my other secondaries. What's throwing me off on this one is the word LIST. Am I reading too much into this or do they literally want you to list things? It just seems so informal compared to an essay. For those of you that have completed this secondary, can you share how you approached this? Or those of you planning to complete the secondary, what are your thoughts?

Thank you!

I wrote a coherent essay about why they should accept me, what I can bring to UHS-COM and why I chose the school. I don't think it makes to much difference what you write, if at all.

If I recall correctly, that was just the space for your essay.

Good luck

I know that this probably isn't going to help, but if I remember correctly I had the same problem you had. In the end, I did exactly what the application said....."list." There was a seperate place for your essay wasn't there?

Actually there isn't an essay question anywhere. It just has this question. I'm thinking to do exactly what they say because I don't want to look like I don't follow instructions....

Any other thoughts?

Don't be such a worry-wort. The adcom's what to select free thinking individuals that won't necessarily always follow direction, because they understand that these are the people who will advance the field of medicine the furthest. Do you honestly think they are going to be concerned with whether you LIST information of phase it eloquently? I highly doubt it. And if they are, just think of how unjustifiably regulatory they will be with your schooling. Trying to make you wear specific attire and be in class for role everyday, not for me.
