In my status page of UI Chicago there is a list of available dates for interview and it says "Please choose your interview date carefully". However, it won't let me choose a date. Does anyone know what's going on?
Thanks- 😕

Prob best to call the school.

Yea, you have to call. I have mine this thursday. They never sent me anything saying I had one, I just saw that page and called to inquire, and they said that means you have an interview, so congrats!

did you guys check this via the application status page?

I was verified 8/29. Just keep on checking the status page because the don't send you an email saying you got an interview, you just have to call them.

I am hoping so bad for a UIC interview--I am still "Application is in Process"😳

When had UIC received all your information and letters?

This one is mostly for those who are done with "processing" at UIC, but if you're not done and want to tell me that's cool too, the more responses the more at ease you'll put my mind, I hope!

my composite letter packet was received on 8/2, i've been complete since then.

Verified on 8/29 and you already have an interview. Wow, that seems really fast on their part. Do you have some crazy stats and extracurriculars or what???? 😱

yeah, that is wicked fast...

I am an Illinois resident, attending University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, with an awesome GPA (3.95) and respectable MCAT (35 Q). I was complete on 8/03/06 and haven't heard a peep. My status page says "application in process," and it is killing me. I have decent extracurriculars and I've been told i have good letters.... what's the deal? Like 50% of Illinois residents get interviews and UIC is really starting to stress me out on this....

I got an interview at Iowa as an OOS candidate.... and come to think of it, one of my letter of rec writers actually works at the UIC (champaign branch) med school!!!

Are they just dragging their feet or what? Sorry for my rant... must go shoot hoops to calm down....

Congrats to everyone who has interviews!

Where do you guys see the box which tells you that you have an interview? All I see is an orange box and purple box beneath it. The purple box just says "Sufficient Recommendations recieved"...?

Thanks

below the purple box is a red rectangle that says NEXT. Click that box and it'll bring you to the status page. It'll either say processing, or bring up interview schedule sheet. Good luck.

Thats weird, I just checked and I seem to be missing the red rectangle that says "next" found beneath the purple box....?

yah i have a 3.6, 35, and went go to UIC and am still waiting on an interview too. 🙂

It seems like the majority of us are waiting...hopefully we hear soon.

alright, well.. I dunno what to tell ya then. im still in process so i don't know if maybe that box goes away after a decision has been made. it may be best to call them up.

Here is what my page looks like, minus confidential info....

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/mdmille2/shared/ill.bmp?uniq=14078t

it is incredibly big file.. sorry about that, but it'll show you what im talking about...

Hopefully we all hear soon enough so we can get an early decision (October 16th)---that would make this process incredibly less stressful

Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it. For some reason I dont have that red box that says next, I guess they either havn't updated the website or are still processing.

Thanks for the help!

this is basically the reason i applied early in the first place (tell me, why is it essential to do that again?). it's starting to look less and less likely that i'll make that date. there's no way to schedule an interview, go on the interview, have the admissions committee review us, and receive a decision in a little over three weeks.

they seem to be operating much slower than other state schools, hopefully we can at least get an interview invite in the next few days.

I think if you don't have the "Next" box, then you are not complete. They must be waiting on something for your application or it's still being processed. Once you're complete, the "Next" button should appear.

From what I heard, last year ppl received invites the last week of Sept, interviewed the first week of October and heard shortly after. So maybe once they actually send out the interview, the process reallly moves fast. Since it is a state school, they probably just assume a week or so notice is sufficient.

i'll take your scenario over mine, seeing as it is more optimistic 🙂
