😡 UIC is Shady! We just finished our exams. Can you believe I failed Pathology by 0.05 points, and they won't pass me. Doesn't make any sense. The pass level was a 63.5 and I got a 63.45. You would think they would round my grade up right? Wrong! They rounded the pass level to 64, and rounded my grade DOWN to a 63. You figure it's still 1 point, but those fools still won't pass me. Now I gotta study and take a make up in the summer when I'll be taking my boards. If people have a choice to go to other schools other than UIC, forget UIC, b/c they have no support system. 😡

It is terribly annoying, but there has to be a cutoff, even one that is only 0.05.

Look at it this way, if you take the Path exam again, you will really know your material (not marginally as you do now, according to the exam). Path is a very important subject and you will master it after studying 2 times for the shelf (?). It will definitely help with your USMLE's.

This is not an uncommon occurrence. It does not mean UIC is 'shady'. If you needed support, you should have asked for help in Path before the exam. Complaining about the score after the exam and saying UIC wont give student's support because they wont give you a 'Pass' you didnt earn is unfair.

Dude that sucks. You know what happened to me though? On our anatomy practical for lower extremity I wrote "superficial external pudendal vessels" and I failed that exam because I didn't write "artery + vein" they crossed out "vessels" and wrote in red "ARTERY + VEIN" I was like WHAT THE F****?! But that's UIC man. hahaha. I killed the makeup exam though. Don't worry you'll get through it.
