Hey mmmkoolaid,
If that tuition for UIC is really set @ $46000 a year (out of state?), that's ridiculous. I don't know much about UIC vs. Loyola, from what other people say they're comparable schools.
Pesonally, i loved Loyola. If you go to loyola, you get newer facilities, a nice atmosphere, pretty integrated curriculum, (i'm going there next year) and 45000K is my TOTAL in financial aid loans for the year.
Plus, a buddy of mine goes to UIC and he hates his basic science courses. I don't know how accurate his statement was, but he said a lot of people are failing tests, and that he pretty much skips all of his lectures because otherwise he won't have enough time to study. He said that UIC is really hard on their students in yrs one and two.
Again, i don't know the school (UIC), never been, but this is what a friend of mine said, so take it with a grain of salt like all advice on this forum.
Good luck with your decision
Joe
