Does anyone have the UIC secondary with the writing fields already on it? I really don't want to go through the maddening process of trying to get typed text onto this if some kind soul already and is willing to share. Many thanks.

Just download it in MS Word format (.doc). Then it has all the fields to fill in for you.

    speaking of which
they acknowledged me already but do u think its worth it at all to apply if i havnt fulfilled their psych classes? I have one psych related class (psychological anthropology) but never took any real classes. Should i just withdraw (FYI i also graduated and heading into a 1 year masters and i doubt i will be taking psych at all). What do you think?

Braluk - I'm in the same position. What's up with that two semester requirement? Lame. I had already written UIC off - if you figure anything out lemme know.

i emailed them, but still awaiting a response. Psych seems to be such a random ass requirement, its like you need to do your research on the school when you are a freshmen in college to know what they want.

After talking to Mark Urosev, it is evident that you MUST have a full year of psych. This is why I am taking it the next year. Blah. I recommend emailing him asking him for an exception, or atleast making him aware of your situation. This way, at least you have a shot. He is super nice and helpful. Good luck.

When I called and asked them about that the lady I talked to said the req is for admissions only and not for the application. So you can put something like to be taken in the future where it askes for the class name on the secondary. If I get accepted and will go there for sure I am going to take two more classes in the winter or summer. If I don't or am going somewhere else then I won't.

I got alot of information back:

    Dear Brandon,
The Committee asks for 2 psychology course and one anthropology or
sociology. All of our prerequisites are for matriculation but not
necessarily application, so that has no bearing on your admission
status. IF you were to receive an offer of admission, however, and
matriculate here, you would have to complete them by August 2007. Last
year we notified students at the time of the interview if they needed to
take anything else. Some students really love the school and are willing
to complete the requirements in order to attend. This can be done at any
accredited institution (including community colleges or on-line) If you
haven't taken psychology or sociology but have a course where you think
the content was that, you can list it on the grid (course title and number
as on the transcript) and attach a course description taken from the
catalog, on line, etc. and the reviewer will take a look. (I would use
those anthro courses) As an example, an applicant had taken a course
called "Computers in Society" in the Computer Science department; he
submitted a course description to see if could be counted as
sociology. the worst that could happen is that you would be asked to take
another course or two. I hope this helps.

This is what i asked Mark:

    This was the response:

    Brandon,
List the psychological anthropology course and two other anthro courses and
    you will be fine.

Does anyone know how many semester hours are needed to fullfill the bio lab requirement?
