I'm a second year @ Rush .. and I don't think RUSH "pampers" you .. as is the current line of thinking among non-Rush students (i.e. UIC students). You have to work hard for good grades your entire stay at RUSH, however, what RUSH does do for you is provide you exactly what you need to study in the form of syllabi .. so you don't need to waste time or money sorting through other very detailed texts (ala undergrad), or worry about which study-prep/aids to purchase ..
The general atmosphere at RUSH is non-competitive .. at least in my class .. it varies from class to class. That's gunna be true of any med school for the most part.. i was pretty impressed that my particular class is rather relaxed and down-to earth .. we have our gunners.. but what would med school be w/o them?
Rush is costing me an arm & a leg though .. my loan this year was for $40,000 ... ugh.. but... i'm happy, and i'm doing well in school. I don't regret any extra dollar spent to come to this school.
