Hey all so I have been accepted to both schools and just need some guidance:

PNWU (Yakima, WA)
Pros:
* 99.5% match for residency for 2019, 100% for 2020
* more established (2008)
* pass/fail block system
*(not sure if this is pro or con) rotation sites are more rural, so perhaps more hand on experience
Cons:
* middle of nowhere
* no established support system in area
* choice for rotation site would be low since I have no connection to any locations.
* board pass rates are low at 93 %

UIWSOM (San Antonio, TX)
Pros:
*pass/fail self-directed learning done in groups
*enjoy the location and ability to practice medical spanish
*rotations done at well known hospitals
*MD school in same city
*Texas school so chances matching into Texas residency is higher
*established support system in area
Cons:
* less established (has yet to graduate first class (2017))
* COMLEX pass rate for first time 83.22%, more than 10% below national average

I am from CA and not sure I desire to return to the state or not, but also dont want to close any doors of possibly returning home to build a career. Also, this is just information I have gathered and not sure if there is anything im missing, so please feel free to add any additional information you think would help this decision. I would really appreciate the advice and help.

PNWU all the way. UIWSOM has some kinks to work out and they haven't graduated a class yet so I would go for a more known entity PNWU. The one con is Yakima is the middle of nowhere

San Antonio might be a cooler location, but going with a new/unestablished DO school is a biggg roll of the dice. Meanwhile, PNWU is well-regarded.
