Uk gastroenterologist wanting to move to the us

I am practicing gastroenterologist in the uk for the past 5 years. My wife has family in the United States and she really wants to move there. I don't know where to start because I have no idea what the procedure is. Do I have to start over ? I really don't want to go through the years of training again. Will working in the academic setting allow me to skip the training?Anyone who has more information or has done this please shed some light.
